Not quite so Cinquain, Thursday

Ok, so as I mentioned last week, I am aiming to try and get a book of poems published. Half of which will be Cinquains, but some poems as well. So I decided it will no longer be Cinquain Thursday, but, shall I call it.....
Creative Writing Thursday?
Ya, I think that sounds good huh?
So, without further ado, the poem for today!

My King

I lived, I walked His path
But now I have died,
my life is ended.
My soul His to receive.

I am fading away,
Oh, but I see a face,
one so glorious is shines.
It shines with a perfect beauty.

He is taking my hand,
leading me above.
Where I will be forever,
Home, Home with my King

I am not one to toot my own trains horn, but there has always been something about this particular poem that almost tears me up. To truly think about it, Home, to think about going where you know you truly belong, Home with my King. It is breathtaking to feel this way, to think upon the future where you leave this world behind, along with family and friends who will grieve you going. But at the same time you rejoice, because you are finally going where you truly belong, Home with my King.

Well, if you care to go back and look, I had previously posted this poem, earlier this year. But you will see I have revised it, I think this one flows better.

Fooled You [13]

Tall cop

Striding at me

His eyes squint, mine widen

Stops in front of me, holds my arm

"Hey hon"

I started labeling these by number because I am going to turn it into a book when I get about a hundred Cinquains written. [Maybe I'll try and get a book of poetry published, who knows, maybe I'll turn into an author after all.]
So why do I do them on Thursdays? I don't know, I just like Thursday =)

Cinquain-Thursday [10]

Black knight

Stands on the street

Met by our white hero

Swords clash, one stands victorious

Town cheers

I have neglected to write in a whole week :(
I just have had a very boring summer, so nothing to write about. Although I am going on a two day camping trip tomorrow morning, sleeping in tents, and kayaking miles down a river =) I am very exited. That should give me a good post =)

Cinquains

A Cinquain is a five line poem much like that of the Japanese Haiku. Consisting of five lines,in the form.....

one word or two syllables - subject name
two words or four syllables - description
three words or six syllables - action
four words or eight syllables - description
one word or two syllables-summination

The Cinquain was created by a U.S poet named Adelaide Crapsey Liking the poetry form of the Haiku she adapted it to her own style and named it the Cinquain, based on the French word 'five'

this is a Cinquain written by Crapsey in her new style.......

NOVEMBER NIGHT

Listen ...
With faint dry sound,
Like steps of passing ghosts,
The leaves, frost-crisp'd, break from the trees
And fall.

In 1915, in her collection titled Verse, she included 28 Cinquains, the book was published a year after her death.

When I found this style of poetry I was immediately taken with it. I loved the form and the syllable count, finding it unique and easy to think of many different things I could write in that form.
I also enjoy the slight difficulty of getting your idea down, but still being correct in your syllable count.
I only just started writing most of my poetry in Cinquain form a few months ago, I hope I am doing well :)

Cinquain-Thursday [4]

Posted early, because I will be gone all week.

Lonely

Abandoned by,

Or just lost? You tell me

I guess only you know why, right?

Do you?

I Am,
Sad and hurt, cry
Trying to stay strong now
Hoping, praying, for strength to stand
